What you need to know about parking at UNF.

BetterParkTrying to find a parking spot at St. Johns Town Center or in downtown Jacksonville can be difficult. Trying to find a parking spot on campus with two minutes to go is certainly no different.

Before & After Buying A Permit... Students Faculty & Staff Visitors Students Faculty & Staff

The University of North Florida’s Parking & Transportation Services department introduces BetterPark, the parking management campaign designed to help you reduce stress, avoid costly problems and focus on why you came to campus in the first place.  Our first concern is safety, of course.  But we also want to make the most efficient use of our parking resources.  In this Web site, you will find out about the types of parking permits, which lots and garages you can park in, permit costs, what to do if you get a ticket, and a whole lot more.  Click on the links and find out what you need to know, whether you are a student, a member of the faculty or staff, or a visitor.

If you are part of the UNF family, download the UNF brochure and keep a copy in your glove box.

Days and times when display of parking permits is required

Remember, parking regulations are strictly enforced to protect the rights of those who paid for their permits and play by the rules! Parking regulations apply 24/7/365!

All motor vehicles parked on University property, whether parked by students, faculty, staff, vendors, contractors, visitors or others must display a valid parking permit.  There are some exceptions for certain vendors, contractors, law enforcement, state vehicles, utility and repair vehicles, taxis and others. For a list of exemptions, please refer to the official parking regulations.

As authorized by regulation 9.0020R I (2), the University’s President has designated the following days and times when the display of parking permits is required. All motor vehicles parked on University property, whether parked by students, faculty, staff, vendors, contractors, visitors or others must display a valid parking permit:

  1. at all times (24 hours per day, 7 days per week) for Lot 16 (University Center lot), except for the thirty-three (33) spaces allocated to Housing in the north-west corner of this lot;
  2. continuously from 12:00 a.m. Monday through 7:00 p.m. Friday for Lots 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 47 and the thirty-three (33) spaces allocated to Housing in the north-west corner of lot 16; and
  3. between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday for all parking locations not covered in (1) and (2) above.
